Takaro is a web-based, multi-game cross-server manager that offers a versatile collection of modules to simplify game server management tasks while extending game functionality. It features a web interface and a REST API for managing game servers for titles like 7 Days to Die and Rust.

Currently, Takaro supports 7 Days to Die and Rust. We’re continuously working on expanding our supported game list.

CSMM will continue to be maintained for the foreseeable future. Once Takaro becomes more mature and widely used, CSMM will be deprecated and eventually discontinued. There’s no set timeframe for this; we’ll base the decision on user adoption rates.

Unlike CSMM’s level-based system, Takaro uses a permission-based approach. Roles in Takaro are composed of specific permissions that determine what actions can be performed within the Takaro API. This allows for more granular control over user capabilities.

Yes, we’ve created a migration tool. In CSMM, go to server settings, scroll to the experiments section, and click ‘export’ to download a JSON data-dump. In Takaro, use the ‘import from CSMM’ button on the servers overview page. Note that this is a best-effort migration, and some CSMM features (like custom hooks, commands, and cronjobs) are not compatible with Takaro.

Takaro offers both built-in modules (created and maintained by the Takaro Team) and community modules (contributed by users). Built-in modules include core functionalities, while community modules offer additional features and customizations.

Some examples include the AFK-kick module (which monitors player activity and removes inactive players) and the Teleport module (which allows players to create and use teleport points with configurable limitations).

Yes, Takaro supports custom modules. However, we’ve designed the platform so that 99% of users should find the built-in modules sufficient. Custom module creation requires programming experience.
