Delete Your Account

You can request the deletion of your Takaro account and all associated data at any time. This page explains the steps, what gets deleted, and what happens next.

How to request account deletion

  1. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
  2. Include the email address associated with your Takaro account so we can verify your identity.
  3. We will confirm your request and process the deletion.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Account information: email address, display name, Discord OAuth tokens, and profile settings
  • Game server configurations: server connection details, RCON credentials, and module settings
  • Player data: in-game names, Steam IDs, activity logs, and game events associated with your servers
  • Dashboard data: saved settings, preferences, and usage history

What data is retained

Some data may be retained after account deletion:

  • Payment records: billing history and transaction records are retained for up to 7 years as required by tax and financial regulations. These records are handled by Stripe and do not contain your credit card number.
  • Anonymized analytics: aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics may be retained for product improvement purposes.

Deletion timeline

Account deletion is processed within 30 days of your request. During this period:

  • Your account is immediately deactivated and you will be logged out.
  • Your data is queued for permanent deletion.
  • After 30 days, all eligible data is permanently removed from our systems, including backups.

Before you delete

Keep in mind:

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Any active subscription will be cancelled. No further charges will be made.
  • Other server admins who share your game servers will lose the configurations you set up.
  • If you want to keep a copy of your data, use the API to export it before requesting deletion.
